Horse Riding and Local Sights

Even if it's your first time riding a horse, you can go horseback riding through the forest.

We can also provide an interpreter and a driver for a comfortable ride.

The plan can be changed according to your wishes.

Horse Ride in the Forest

Horseback riding for beginners.
Experience horseback riding in the forest with a guide leading your horse by a rope.
Lunch

Enjoy the local specialty of walnut soba and tempura, in a historic old house that is not known to tourists.
Option 1: Sake Tasting

Nagano Prefecture is home to many sake breweries, known for their use of its pure water and high-quality rice. We will be visiting the famous Chikumanishiki in Saku City.
Option2: Onsen

Take the mountain train to the top and go to the open-air bath above the clouds.

【About the tour】

This tour offers the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Nagano, including a horseback riding experience with private transportation. Customization is available depending on the locations you choose to visit.

Typically my tour lasts for 6 hours but I am also available for 8-hour tours. An additional charge of 4,000 yen will apply for each extra hour.

If you prefer a shorter tour , please inform me in advance.

【Highlights】

Horseriding：

This is a safe horseback riding experience for first-time riders, where you can stroll through the forest (you will be led by a leash)and practice riding on your own in the riding arena. Your guide, who has extensive horse riding experience, will be with you at all times to provide detailed explanations. This experience is available to children from the age of three, making it a tour that can be enjoyed by parents and children alike.

If you would like to experience wilder trekking( you are required to control your horse by yourself), there are a few places I know. It is a bit far from Karuizawa, but I highly recommend trying it if you are an experienced rider. Please let me know.

Lunch：

At Yamahei, a soba restaurant with a lovely old-style house and Japanese garden, you can enjoy the local specialties of walnut soba, tempura, and carp. Reservations are required for private rooms with hearths.

Sake tasting or hot spring

Sake tasting: Tour of Chikuma Nishiki Sake Brewery. You can purchase and sample sake made with the natural and famous water of Saku City. *Sake brewery tours may not be available depending on the season. Hot springs: Take the mountain train to the top and go to the open-air bath above the clouds. If you have time after the hot springs, enjoy a stroll or a refreshing outdoor bath.
