Horse trekking and good food!
My two-day tour with Kanami in Japan was nothing short of magical! From the moment we met, her warm personality and deep knowledge of the region made every experience even more special. Day 1 started with an unforgettable horseback ride through the forest—a peaceful and scenic way to take in nature. Afterwards, we visited a charming café for a delicious treat and good coffee. We ended the day at a lively izakaya, where we enjoyed incredible food, sake, and great conversation. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and Kanami ensured I had the best experience. If you're looking for a guide who combines adventure, culture, and relaxation look no further!

We spent a lovely morning with Kanami-san, riding in the forest and having soba for lunch. Wish we had planned for a full day, and we will definitely do so next time!

had an amazing time exploring the Nagano area with Kanami! She’s fluent in English and deeply knowledgeable about Japanese culture - I had great, lengthy conversations with her about a variety of topics.
The horse riding tour was a highlight—my first time trying Mongolian-style riding. The trail was both relaxing and refreshing, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Kanami handled all the photos and videos during the ride, so I could just enjoy the moment. The Japanese horses were adorable and gentle, making the experience even more enjoyable. Afterward, we recharged with a delicious bowl of ramen, then stopped by a well-known local shop (whose name escapes me!) to pick up some snacks and souvenirs.
On day two, we visited Onioshidashi Volcanic Park—an absolute must-see. The dramatic volcanic landscape is unique. If you’re lucky, you might even spot glowing lichen on the rocks! From there, we headed to Shiraito Falls, a very pretty, wide cascade rather than a tall drop, surrounded by peaceful nature. Along the way, we spotted plenty of sansai (wild mountain vegetables) and explored the nearby food stands. It’s a short walk from the parking area, and there’s food stands around.
We ended the day at Hoshino Onsen, which was the perfect way to unwind. My favorite bath was the outdoor one, set beside the forest—so peaceful and serene.
All in all, my time in Nagano was unforgettable, thanks to Kanami’ I wholeheartedly recommend her tour—thank you so much, Kanami!
